Just called 15 minutes before the shop shut to ask if they were able to clean etc my shoes and if I could get an estimated price. This was purely because I was eager to drop them off the next day. I was told by the woman over the phone (after I rang for the second time as she hung up on me mid-asking the first time) that she was busy serving customers and the shop was nearly shut so she doesn’t know the answer to my questions. She came across as very disinterested and unbothered. Poor customer service throughout. No resolution or answers for a few quick questions and a potential customer.

I took my mother’s coat to American Dry Cleaning Company in Richmond for specialist cleaning and was charged £100. When I picked it up, the hem was covered in dust, and I honestly couldn’t tell if any cleaning had been done at all. To make matters worse, they didn’t even bother to put it in a protective cover. When I raised my concerns with the staff, the response was dismissive—I was simply told, “It is like this. I took it to the shop and brought it back. Sorry.” That’s hardly the level of service you’d expect, especially at this price. Extremely disappointing experience. Feels like a complete scam. I’ll definitely be looking for a more professional and reliable dry cleaner. Update: Based on their response below, it’s clear that this company is not serious about customer service and would rather discredit complaints instead of addressing them. Their comment about “we can’t find you” is completely unprofessional. For clarity, I dropped off the coat in December and was informed that it required a professional clean, which would take over a month. They assured me I would receive a call when it was ready—which, of course, never happened. I only just picked it up today. The receipt is attached as proof. This experience further confirms my initial review. I would strongly advise others to avoid this place and find a more reliable dry cleaner.

I took in a number of items for repair. The lady behind the counter was SO rude. I pretended I didn’t have the cash available to pay before the repairs were done and she actually said “why are you here then? Just to waste my time?”. She went to charge me over £200 for the repairs when some of the holes were tiny, tiny. Her snippy rude attitude was actually quite funny. Worst service I think I’ve ever encountered. The seamstress guy is lovely mind you. But how they’re in business I’ll never know. Overpriced and an attitude that sucks. Avoid honestly. Unless you like a slightly sadistic mean attitude, to spice up your day and empty your wallet 😭
