Christian Anstice Woodworks

Christian did an absolutely outstanding job on our home. He fixed our door perfectly, adding a custom piece so it aligned smoothly with the floor, and he also restored our hallway wooden floor by removing the scratches and giving it a beautiful polished finish. The difference is incredible—everything looks refreshed, clean, and expertly done. His attention to detail, professionalism, and pride in his craftsmanship truly stand out. Christian took the time to explain what needed to be done, worked efficiently, and delivered results that far exceeded our expectations. We’re thrilled with the outcome and would highly recommend Christian to anyone looking for a skilled and reliable carpenter

We are exceptionally pleased with the service Christian has provided for us. He has built a very well made cupboard with three shelves above, all along a difficult stretch of wall in our wobbly and wonky flat. The cupboard’s design is perfectly in keeping with the period features in the rest of the property. Christian was able to carry out this work for us in a timely manner, with good quality materials but at a very reasonable price, was efficient, and a delight to have in our home. We are so pleased with the result and look forward to being in touch when we next have carpentry needs!

My commission was for a large, custom-made wall unit - 4.5m x 2.5m; the material to be used was solid ash. Christian showed great care and attention to all the details of the complex design from selecting the original timber, all the way through the construction phase to the final hand-polishing of the unit. I particularly appreciated his regular communications throughout the lengthy build. The outcome is a fine, hand-crafted 'statement' piece.

We recently hired Christian to build a custom platform in our bedroom to elevate the floor and create a dedicated space for a desk, along with a custom-designed shelf — and the results were outstanding. From start to finish, the experience was seamless. Christian demonstrated exceptional craftsmanship: every detail was precise, clean, and thoughtfully executed. The platform fits perfectly, both functionally and aesthetically, and the shelf is exactly what we discussed. Beyond the quality of the work, Christian was professional, communicative, and an absolute pleasure to work with — always punctual, respectful of our space, and open to feedback. It’s rare to find someone who combines such skill with such kindness and reliability. Highly recommended — we’d definitely work him again.

Christian made an amazing custom console table for us. The quality of his craftsmanship speaks for itself and he was delightful to work with. Will be a repeat customer!!
