Balham Woodworks

James has made a few pieces for our kitchen - banquette seating, a beautiful butcher’s block and some wonderful built-in cupboards and shelves to complement our existing kitchen units. James strikes a good balance between providing advice and options, whilst letting you ultimately decide on what’s best for your space. James has excellent attention to detail and his craftsmanship is top quality. We thoroughly recommend James to our friends and plan to use him for further work around the house.

Fantastic service from James. Friendly, easy to communicate with and installed my shelves quickly and perfectly. He even came round for a look before I bought the shelves, so I could be sure to buy brackets that would be appropriate for my walls and the purpose of the shelves. Definitely recommend!

James quoted to refurbish a sold beech dining room table top that had spent 34 years in tenanted property. Neither of us were entirely sure how badly damaged it was. There were rings of damp and heat marks as well as parts where it looked as though it had been used as a chopping board. I was thrilled with the finished result. It now has good solid smooth surface without the rings. James oiled the top and it now has a wonderful sense of warmth and is ready to host family meals for years to come

James is superb, I can't recommend him enough. He has built and installed beautiful floating shelves for me - and he has recently perfectly restored a retro designer wood lamp. His work is of a very high standard, with an eye for style and elegance - and he's very nice to deal with.

Efficient and courteaous service from a skilled raftsman. Highly recommended. Just completed the second job in home. Excellent work.
