Woodland Carpentry & Construction

We used Woodland for our full house renovation in 2024 which included updating all doors, radiators, plumbing, electrics, foundational work, removing a load bearing chimney breast and adding steel beams, carpentry work for stairs, built in wardrobes and storage solutions throughout the house, all new flooring, updating old skylights, installing bifolding doors, wall finishes, wall moulding and a brand new kitchen and bathroom. Essentially we did everything possible to this house and Woodland made it such a stress free process for us and was done to the highest standard and we couldn't be more happy with our updated home. They project managed all of these different components leaving only the fun side of a house renovation, choosing the design aspects etc to us, we were very impressed by the project management as all of these different trades and skillsets were perfectly lined up to ensure the house was renovated as efficiently and quickly as possible. For all of this work listed, it only took from March until end of June. We couldn't be more grateful and would recommend Alex and James and their company to anyone looking for construction work.

We were looking for carpenters for a 110m2 extension we were having done on our house. My father had used Woodland Carpentry before and recommended them. Alex and James came to speak to me and my wife a few times before we started and we felt in safe hands. Throughout the project they have been on site when needed, on time and been prepared to go the extra mile where things had changed or we had deadlines for other trades. I'd thoroughly recommend them to anyone that is looking for carpenters or general builders. They know what they're doing, very communicative, approachable about any issues and very easy to get on with.

Alex and his team did an excellent job of our challenging build. Their quote was detailed and clear which was very important to us. They were on site for 9 months and in addition to the large wraparound extension (in region of 40sqm) with some bespoke architect designed elements, we had upgrade works to the rest of the house including electrics and external insulation around the existing house. It was a demanding job. The steels were vast and glazing unusual. They were very flexible and patient when the start was delayed due to finalising our party wall award with neighbours. Some variations to the build including much deeper foundations than expected while building up to the boundary on the side also presented difficulties, which they handled well. We had several specific conditions imposed by our party wall award regarding the side extension and access restricted to the neighbours property, which again, made the build more difficult, which they handled well. We had some other suppliers of materials (glazing, kitchen, cladding) that we had sourced independently of them and they managed these relationships smoothly. My husband also spent time sanding floors through the rest of the house during the build, which they coordinated with well. The financing and invoicing plan was clear and they always kept us informed of any additional costs upcoming. Where we had issues they were creative with solutions, if possible, presenting options. We moved out for the bulk of the time and they managed relationships with our neighbours well and kept the home safe and secure. We are grateful to Alex and the team for their work, managing the build, coordinating building control and dealing the various issues and restrictions imposed on them throughout the job. The end result is excellent. We are delighted with our new extension which makes for a brilliant family space ideal for entertaining.
