Nigel Tomkins Carpentry & Joinery - Carpenters Hackney & Islington

Nigel did our closets is our bedroom for us and they are incredible! Everything was finished to perfection and the space is used so nicely now. Also, everything happened very quickly which was great for us. Will definitely be going to Nigel again soon for our next built in project. Highly recommend!

Nigel built an integrated desk and two bookshelves, as well as adding mantles to our fireplace surrounds. He was extremely flexible with reusing existing framing and fireplace surrounds and helped to deliver some great units that bring back the Victorian charm of our house and did so very quickly. We will definitely be getting him back when we next need carpentry work done.

Nigel undertook several projects for us recently - making and fitting a Victorian hardwood front door, replacing a staircase and fitting shelving in a built-in wardrobe. The finished results are excellent. Nigel is very diligent, doesn't cut corners and carries out his work to a very high standard. He is pleasant, courteous and reliable and clearly takes pride in doing a good job. His charges were also reasonable and fair. It was a pleasure having him around and we would highly recommend him.

TLDR; Nigel Delivers Quality Carpentry with Excellent Communication. Nigel is a skilled carpenter who stood out from the other carpenters in the local area contacted for a small job. Out of the 15 carpenters contacted, only three responded, but Nigel's communication was prompt and efficient. He responded quickly to the initial message and offered a competitive quote via email by using pictures. After agreeing on the job, he corrected the persistent problem with the kitchen cupboard doors by adding repair kits and additional hinges. The job was completed within a few hours with zero mess and zero hassle to the tenants. Throughout the project, Nigel's communication was exceptional, and he kept me updated on his progress. He even took the time to reach out halfway through the job to provide an update on the work's status. The tenants were happy with the end result, and they appreciated the fact that there was no mess or disruption during the repair work. Nigel's attention to detail, professionalism, and excellent communication skills make him my go to for carpentry services. He took the time to listen and understand my needs, and provide quality solutions that exceeded my expectations. If you need a quality carpenter who delivers, don't hesitate to contact Nigel.

Really impressed by Nigel’s professionalism and handiwork. He created some lovely wardrobes and a bookcase for our new house, designed exactly for our needs and perfectly fitting the space - a difficult job as the house is old and has no straight lines! He communicated promptly and left the space clean! Thank you so much, we highly recommend him
