When is a guarantee not a guarantee? When it’s with Camden Box Frame. I bought a window from them about 8 years ago which supposedly had a 10 year guarantee. It deteriorated badly so I called them, they came and looked at it and said the repair would be covered by the guarantee, no problem. The day before it was booked in for repair I was sent an invoice out of the blue, with no warning, for £360 as a ‘25% contribution’ towards the repair. When I questioned this, the owner of the business claimed I’d said it hadn’t been painted every 4-5 years, invalidating the guarantee. I hadn’t said that and it had been painted within this time. They took the window out then the owner refused to let his fitter reinstall it until I’d paid. He sent a nasty text threatening to take the repaired window away unless I paid in ten minutes and refused to send the terms and conditions of the guarantee. It’s a total scam. I have the original invoice from when I bought the window and the nasty text message to prove that I’m a genuine customer.

I've used Camden Boxframe several times over the last 20 years and they have been invariably efficient and professional. They deliver high-quality, long-lasting work and leave the property in great condition without requiring any further touch-ups or repairs surrounding the replacement windows. I don't know if they're the cheapest or quickest option available, because I value reliability and high standards of work over lowest price. On the most recent job they did for me, which included a really tricky frame replacement in a narrow corner, installation and making good took two days and I wasn't charged anything extra for the trouble. I have recommended them to many people over the years and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.

I needed to replace four large wood sash windows and two box wood windows . I am on the top floor of a building and these windows are south facing and experienced rot decay after 25 years . I had a parade of seven window companies of which six sent an estimator to evaluate . However Camden Box Frame sent their experienced joiner Troy who examined the windows inside and outside . Unlike the other companies no scaffolding was required . I accepted the competitive quote and four weeks later it was Troy who lead the team to remove my windows and undertake their replacements . He overcame many concerns which were related to the original poor installation many years ago . After four days of hard work my windows were installed and all paint finished . A terrific job and delighted that I chose this family run company .

After 20 years of alternate and at times, horrific experiences with London's workers and builders, I have no doubts in recommending Camden Box Frame to another landlord. Great service and great fitters, people who are taking responsibility for what they do and think before doing. I will also use them again for other windows jobs in my properties.

Calvin promptly produced all the relevant drawings and specifications required for my planning application to the local authority. Calvin would not accept any payment for his time or the drawings he did for me. V impressed with his commitment to traditional, beautiful joinery with the latest energy & security ratings. A good old fashioned service in a modern world.
